He is a loyal supporter of King Richard and they have both gone abroad to fight in the Crusades.

In his absence King Richard leaves his brother, Prince John, in charge of the country.

However, Prince John turns out to be a cruel, power-hungry man who wants to replace his brother on the throne.

He is helped by the evil Sherrif of Nottingham who kills Robin Hood’s father, steals his land and intends to forcibly marry Robin Hood’s sweetheart, Marian.

On returning to England he confronts the Sherrif of Nottingham.

The Sherrif tries to arrest Robin and throw him in prison but Robin escapes.

Unfortunately, he is now considered an outlaw and Robin therefore hides in the nearby Nottingham Forrest.

Whilst in the forest he meets up with a gang of thieves living there and he becomes their leader.

Prince John needs money and he decides to steeply increase the taxes.

Prince John and the local rich people are obviously very angry about these robberies and they demand that Sherrif of Nottingham captures these outlaws.

The Sherrif of Nottingham, therefore, decides to set a trap.

He organises an archery competition inside the grounds of his castle where he is holding Marian prisoner.

Robin Hood realises that this competition is a trap but decides to enter the contest anyway.

Robin and his gang attend the competition in disguise.

By some incredible feats of archery, Robin wins the competition.

As Robin steps up to collect his prize from Marian, the Sherrif call out for his men to arrest Robin.

However, at the same time Robin and his men throw off their disguises and a huge battle ensues.

Although they have killed the Sherrif of Nottingham and rescued Marian, they are still outlaws.

Shortly after Robin and his men have returned to the forest, they meet a group of strange men on horses.

These strange men ask many question about what has been happening recently in England and Robin tells them about the Sherrif of Nottingham and Prince John.

The leader of these strange men then suddenly throws of his cloak to reveal that he is in fact King Richard who has just returned from the Crusades.

King Richard then takes back control of England from his brother and pardons both Robin and his men.
